HaleStorm, Lubbock Tx 2012

With an Awesome crowd we are all Rocking out to Halestorm who threw a kick ass show.... AreJay you kill those drums and interact with the crowd like a pro. I would like to say this is a video of just how we saw it. Sadly, poor Lizzy's Awesome voice was drowned out. Come on sound guy lets get a better mix.....

They also gave us an awesome acoustic show at Ralphs Record. We have to Thank Ralphs for hosting a great show too. The Lizzy Hale does not disappoint here on the vocals. I have to say the Acoustic set we were able to hear you so much better and you kicked ass giving it all. This Acoustic was like we were all just hanging out.

WE Can Not Wait to SEE YOU AGAIN

Hear the Music............Feel the Music

Living in such a small town makes it hard for those of us who love what can be termed new or alternative rock. I just call it rock, not to be confused with scream-o music, hip hop, rap or country. We do not get concerts and when one is close by 1 1/12 to 4 hours away no one wants to go...:(

Us gals, actually met out of town at a New Medicine, Emphatic, and Art of Dying Concert.

Through the years of listening to band such as, Puddle of Mudd, GodSmack, Korn, Disturbed, Blue October, Evanescence so forth and so on, people would tell me I was listening to hate music, dark music, evil music and depressing music.

I did not understand why others could not hear what I heard. I have been thinking about this blog for some time now as a place to talk about music and concerts "From Where We Stand".

Our hope is to share our concert experiences in hopes that it will inspire others to pack a bag, get a ticket and get to a concert and feel the energy. As well, we hope to inspire others to take a moment and listen hear the music and feel the music.

While Country music tends to be cry in your beer (I do like to dance to country), the Rock of today takes the kick in the gut and gets up and moves on, calls a duck a duck. Someone asked me if I was nuts when I said I heard inspiration while listening to Adalita's Way on a trip. It gave me just what I needed at the moment to move along. Now I am not saying there are not songs that are just not that way, but overall we hear great inspiration in this musical class. They say the things we need to hear the things we deny.

10 Years
"Shoot It Out"
You can be rest assured
You give them all you got and you give them a little more
You never even know what for
They feed and they suck until you unconscious
It's never enough until they kill your subconscious...I am not gonna fight you're war

This is music that gets your blood pumping..especially when you see how much energy and effort the band puts into a show for you the fan... It is amazing.

KMX BIrthday Bash April 20, 2012 Lubbock, Texas

From Where we Stand invaded Lubbock, for the FMX Birthday Bash, April 20, 2012.

The Roaming Rocker Chicks hit the Road to Lubbock to attend the FMX Birthday Bash and the X9 Fest (X9 fest is part of the Mass Chaos Tour with Stained and GodSmack) back to back.

We had gotten our VIP GodSmack tickets months earlier and only found out about the FMX Birthday Bash at the last moment, considering we don’t live there, we said WTH we will be there anyhow… Lets Go!

Friday we hit the road a little behind schedule due to wardrobe malfunctions and you guessed it navigational errors…shhhh we got there…

The line up for the FMX Birthday Bash was phenomenal for both stages. Ampitheater Stage: Korn, Chevelle, Lacuna Coil, Cavo, Dead Sara and on The Pavilion Stage: DJ’s Datsik, Sluggo & J.Devil, New Medicine, Janus, Veer Union.

But with two stages, choices had to be made.  So we headed for the main stage, since we had recently seen New Medicine (Awesomeness) in Abilene.

Lacuna Coil

We made it in time to see Lacuna Coil. The crowd was not quite packed yet so working our way in the pockets of people, we landed in the second row center stage.

Oh man you could feel the rush move through your body.. The beautiful Cristina Scabbia belted out every song with her beautiful voice revealing heart and soul.  Andrea Ferro worked that stage and crowd also gave it all and put on a show.. All despite the high heat. Cristiano "Criz" Mozzati was one with the drums and we could feel every beat. Cristian “Pizza” Migliore appeared lost in his beautiful guitar as did Marco "Maus" Biazzi. Who could ask for more? Well, we have two suggestions for this totally rockin group… Marco Coti Zelati wake up over there on the bass, you add so much but we want to see you enjoy it too!!!  Whomever was on your sound board needs to work on the balance…Cristina was many times drowned out as if at times her microphone was not working (except we were so close we could hear a bit)… No matter we can not wait to see you again maybe in a smaller venue..

Chevelle

Chevelle, well what can one say about Chevelle… You guys Rock and appear to love the show. As you can tell us gals like to see you loving what you’re doing as well, and it shows.  Microphone issues still plagued the performance, however your live version of Red was Great and did not get lost… and Oh my stars Hats off  to the Bull. Thank you guys for including the audience many of us got lost in the music right along with you.

Korn
With Korn’s  lights began lighting up the night for around 5 minutes the excitement gathered. The absolutely gorgeous silver mic stand arrived… the crowd could not wait and more shoving began.. heck they were crowd surfing without a band.

If you have never seen Korn live, use a sharpie and put it on your list of things to do ASAP. Jonathan, Field, Munky and Ray do not leave anything to be desired.  You can feel the energy of every note played and sung. Ray was busting drum sticks everyplace. These guys really appear to be playing to us in the crowd and blowing our hair back, song after song. No one cared they were being smashed, or the air was stifling up front in the crowd. We just kept rocking, absorbing every moment of the talent Korn provided.  In one word ELECTRIC…

Afterword, we chatted with Koop at the New Medicine Merch booth. We had spent some time with them in Abilene. He informed us of the Acoustic set the next day and got us all the info. Oh and we would be there for sure!

Even though it was not planned the KMX Birthday Bash was well worth it..
