If you were not in Lubbock the 17th you missed out on one hell of a show...
Kicking off New Medicine, the boys braved once again the hot sun and heat to give us every wonderful note. There is no dismissing this groups incredible talent and love for the fans. We were only able to visit with Koop before the show and were not able to get out of the crowd to get our hugs from the rest of the crew. Every time we see them it is as if they are better and better and better.. AreJay from Halestrom graced the stage for "Race you to the Bottom". I can not tell you how fun it was..."Rich Kids" and "Little Sister" are also very noteworthy,. I highly suggest you pick up a copy of the album "Race you to the Bottom"
Cavo
Chevelle
came out in full force just prior to Halestorm and who can not love them all...
Lets just say Hats off to the Bull
I think each time I see Cavo and Chevelle I love them even more!
Lizzy Hale and brother AreJay with Halestorm proved once again to be a presence on stage.. Man how does she do it in those awesomely high heals? But they were Awesome! Lizzy is exactly what should precede Amy Lee... These two women are both absolute phenoms with mic in hand and on stage... I have to say Lizzy and Halestorm do a kick ass acoustic set to.
Halestorm brings such power and showmanship to the stage you feel blessed to be a part of the show.
Ohhh Evanescence
Everyone waited all day to see Amy Lee here in Lubbock the crowd closed in (and yeah drunks pushed) just to be a tad bit closer to the stage and the rail as anticipation mounted. People were even jumping at the sound checks....I think I heard at least five marriage proposals from the pit area we were in.
Now with seeing Evanescence live my life is now half complete for here music screams so much and has touched my soul deeply as I am sure it has many of her fans. Not only has it shared in our deepest lows but brought us up with strength to some very nice highs.
She did not, I repeat DID NOT disappoint.. She worked the center and right stage with great spirit and presence, belting out hit after hit just as if it was on your Ipod but with much much more energy coming from the stage and heart than would come from your Ipod. My only wish was to have had known she was doing a signing session and to have known if they were going to get all or just a certain number. The line was just entirely through the building and way to long to wait in only to be told sorry they are done as you got close. Come on promoter let some people know,
Over all a smashing good time now on to the next concert and return to Lubbock for Blue October in November see you all Rocking Out
I also hear Theory of a deadman and Adelitas Way are coming to Abilene

Wondering down to what many of us endearing call “our Patio” at
Fiddlestrings in San Angelo, Texas to get the latest from the girls, I was
surprised to find a live band gearing up to play.
The Damn Quails….. Performed a nice little acoustic style set for
myself and 200 of my closest friends.
While we here ROCK and you know it… We appreciate
the energy artist put into their music and performance and on this cramped area
by the pool one of the performers Spiritual ENERGY struck me. I tried to
capture what I felt on camera, howevera
snapshot could not even come close to the energy I was seeing going on.
(Jon Knudson)
Back at the table with the gang, we all stopped for the sound coming
from the stage. This Texas Country pegged band had a fiddle solo that was not
so much fiddle like Charlie Daniels but a more classical serenade, a violin. I
was amazed to look up and see Jon making this beautiful sound..At that moment, everything ceases to exist,
except the sound coming from his beautiful instrument.
I ran into Jon, we had a quick chat before he went to attend to the
fans.Intrigued by what he had to say I had
to return to the scene of the Music, to see if I could visit with him for a
few.
Below is what I learned from the three members
that lent their time.
Jon Knudson, 30 steel guitar, fiddle, and Ivories.Better question was what do you NOT
play?Attended OU on a mjusical
scholarship with a minor in business. He comes from a musical family who would
gather around and sing and play. His father plays around 17 different
instruments. He says his favorite instrument to play is the piano.
Jon is the one who struck me on this sunny afternoon on the patio…
there was something about the relationship going on between the music, steel
guitar and Jon. Jon tells me “I just try
to open the doorway to the musical consciousness when I play”.I hope you can see it in the photo.
As Jon is formally schooled and grew up with music in his family I was
not surprised to hear him proclaim…”Every note has been played by someone
somewhere through time it is just a matter of me making is say what I want it
to say”.
He tells me he is haunted by the fiddle. That scores come to him in
his sleep. While ill for a few weeks and
stuck at home, he would wake up in the middle of the night with new music in
his head.
This tall, skinny, long haired man can be plucked up and placed in any
musical situation and I think he would excel and you would still see that
relationship going on between the instrument he is playing, the music and the
man.His laid back demeanor even after playing
in the hot sun was also enjoyable.
Tom “The Dude” Young, 36 drums. This was my first glance atTom,
as he was hidden behind the drums, in his words, ”all I saw were every one's
asses” .Being an acoustic show he was
not on his full set, I cannot wait to see that performance.
Tom has been playing for about 20 years and you can see his excitement
for what he does not only in his smile but in his words and bubbly
personality.“I cant believe they pay
me to do this I love what I do”.Tom,
tells me, “I transcend, thinking about what is going on in my life and what is
next on this journey” when he plays. “I am a student for life and strive to be
better today than I was yesterday at whatever I am doing”.This was seconded by Jon
Tom talked about being nominated for a Texas Country Award. His face
lit up as he talked about the honor of being nominated. He loved the fact he can “break all
expectations”.
Tom likes and looks forward to the big stage but still loves the intimate
settings such as Fiddlestrings and hanging with the fans.Well Tom the Fans love hanging with you, but
next time we are all just going to jump in the pool.
Blake Lennon, 29 lead guitar, mandolin and percussion.Blake also attended OU and has played for
about ten years.Blake is the one who
talked about how The Damn Quails connect musically even laying tracks
separately in the studio, “We just know what and where the others are and where
we need to be”.
Blake tells me they all write a little of the music they play but for
him he is “Amazed to work with ridiculously awesome Writers “ Bryon White and
Gabriel Marshall of the band,
Blake tells me: “I don’t think about the song or the next cord. I just
open myself up (motioning from the top of his head) and let it flow through me
and out” when he plays on stage.
I spoke with three of the five that were there that night.
I hope to get the opportunity to talk in depth with the rest of the band in the
near future.
From what this patron can see they love what they do they feel the
music through their bodies and souls. They love getting to know the fans. They
are influenced by many many genres of music, rock, classical, country, jazz,
blue grass and the list goes on and you can see a little of every one of them
as they play.
Till Next Time and I may even bring my dancing shoes, a girl could get lost in your music wrapped in the arms of a dance partner..
Just a Quickie for everyone. Last night at the Lucky Mule we had the pleasure of being introduced to this Houston area band that played as a cohesive unit, totally in sync with each other on stage and with the crowd... They brought Heart Pounding Power, Energy, Passion, Emotion and Fun to the crowd.
Their CD "See the Light Inside you" says so much....it is well worth grabbing a copy and making a few requests to your local radio station. Check them out on Facebook at The Last Place You Look
As I listen to this CD after seeing them live the first time..I can feel the HEART on the CD but Live you feel and hear that HEART BEATING!!
We here are about music and in part it's impact on us as Fans, it is what lead us here,
So I must share quickly the song most all members mentioned to me at one time or another during the night....
I will believe the odds be hopeful
And try not to undo
That which was built all around me
Take it all the way back to the melody
All we want is attack
Back where we wanna be
And all we had was our ways about it all
I think you don't know nobody
Could be so much better yet
I just need a band to save me
I just need a song of hope
And I wish somebody would
amaze me still
And not make me feel like I'm alone
I will believe while lost and still broken
That there's a light and a way out
Only to say now
Take it all the way back to the melody
And I will sleep in the glory of all mankind
And wonder now how you will
Now how you will feel this way
Only lonely the way you'll never be
And I may be the one still waiting
This is where I'll wait until I'll see
I just need a band to save me
I just need a song of hope
And I wish somebody would
amaze me still
And not make me feel like I'm alone
I just need a band to save me
I just need a song of hope
And I wish somebody would
amaze me still
And not make me feel like I'm alone
You think you know you're on your own
But how is there anything we can be sure of
You think you know
You think you know
And you think you know you're on your own
But how is there anything we can be sure of
You think you know
You think you know
But you know that
You will never be on your own now
Never be on your own
I just need a band to save me
I just need a song of hope
And I wish somebody would
amaze me still
And not make me feel like I'm alone now
Don't make me feel like Im alone now
And you don't find but you will find some way
I hope you will
I hope you will find some way
I hope you will never be alone

More to come later from our visit... you will be touched and impressed.
BTW: Nava shouts out "I have the most awesomely loving girlfriend ever, I love her so much" Well Meghan Dudley you should be proud at how he beamed with joy as he spoke about you and the inspiration you have evoked in him. Keep on taking good care of these boys and keep Nava "safe". Best of Luck

Evanescence Chevelle, and New Medicine come near San Angelo for the Carnival of Madness Tour
The 2012 Carnival of Madness lineup has been announced and with female fronted bands Evanescence and Halestorm leading the charge, the annual tour is chock full of girl power. But there’s room for the gents, too, as Chevelle and New Medicine round out the bill, serving up a stellar lineup of today’s best acts in modern hard rock.
The tour is set to kick off on July 31 in Springfield, Ill., and run
through the rest of the summer and into early September, crossing the
United States; check out the full list of dates and locations below.
All four bands have new music to bring to the stage. Evanescence
released their self-titled disc at the end of 2011 and have been road
warriors ever since. Halestorm recently wrapped up their Mass Chaos
tour run with Godsmack and Staind and just dropped their latest album
‘The Strange Case of…’ in April. Chevelle’s ‘Hats Off to the Bull’ came
out in December of 2011, and the newest band on the bill, New Medicine,
released their debut disc in 2010.
It was just recently that Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee was singing the praises
of Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale. And now Lee offers her excitement
about being on the same bill as Halestorm and Chevelle: “We’re really
looking forward to the Carnival of Madness tour this summer. We love
Chevelle and haven’t hit the road together in years, and I’m really
stoked to finally be playing some shows with Halestorm. Naturally, I’m a
fan of strong women in music and Lzzy’s voice is spectacular.”
Ticket pre-sales kick off on Tuesday, May 22, with radio pre-sale
tickets available first. Carnival of Madness fan club members can begin
purchasing tickets Wednesday, May 23 and artist fan club pre-sales start
Thursday, May 24. General public on-sale begins Friday, June 1. For all
the latest ticketing info, visit the tour’s official website.

With 10 Years you will hear so much
We want others to hear the music ..... I have heard many artist tell me the story behind a song and it is not how I personally interpret it..Never Mind that. It feeds the soul with what it needs .... You can feel the power and energy arise up within you.
10 YEARS "Shoot it Out" gave me inspiration last summer
"....You can be rest assured
You give them all you got and you give them a little more
You never even know what for
They feed and they suck until you're unconscious
It's never enough they kill your subconscious
I'm ready to die..." (the old emotional, sad, defeated me was ready to die to make room for the new me, so don't get out the rubber suits assholes)
"Will you kill what's left of me to stop the bleeding..."(the old defeated heart needed to stop the bleeding)
(that is how I was feeling for a bit and while traveling and listening to this over and over, I loved the song repeat, this little piece hit me like a slap in the face saying WAKE UP and I said "Self the following is what you needed to hear"...)
"Load it, cock it, pull it, refuse to be ignored
I'm not gonna fight you war
All the distractions kill the compassion"
I am absolute this was not the intended story behind the song but it gave my soul something it needed... Rock ON Peeps Listen and you will hear...the messages are out there for whatever you need...
Just listen to this one with your eyes closed.............
